The historic spiritual center of Glendalough valley (and one different but somewhat similar location – see can you spot it?) in mid-Summer. Once a destination for pilgrims and hosting a community led by St Kevin of the famous St Kevin’s cross, before it was later closed down in favor of centralization to Dublin. Oddly, also the source of oak trees used to build one of the world’s largest Viking ships.
